Dear Friends and Fellow Adventurers,
It is a heavy heart that I must inform you all that a severe illness has befallen a member of The Munchausen Society. JR Whitcomb, aka Arson of Karnevil, needs surgery to remove a tumor on his neck. He has been a diligent contributor to our shows for years, and as such, he has helped to raise thousands for various charities. Now he is struggling to pay for the life saving surgery he desperately needs.
One of the many creeds that we live by in The Munchausen Society is that we take care of our own. It is in this spirit that I would like to reach out to the community for help. Please look to see what you can give. Any amount, no matter how small, adds up up in the long run.
Also, please share his gofundme page.:
The more attention it gets, the more people can give. Like I said, with enough people contributing, even the smallest amounts add up and matter.
Thank you all for your help on this.
With the utmost sincerity,
Dr. Zack of The Munchausen Society
The Munchausen Society is excited to announce that in less than 2 weeks, we will be going where no Munchausen has gone before!
What does that mean?
Quite simply, through the use of Quantum-temporal theory, the harnessing of otherworldly forces, and a well placed potato, we will be traveling to the 23rd century in order to host a story telling with the Klingon Crew of The IKV NasToj.
You can find the open temporal portal to take you to this show at the Itz-A-Con on Saturday, June 18th at 11:30 am. http://www.lvitzacon.com/home
The charity we will be raising money for is the Atlas Foundation for Autism. Since this charity has an online donation page, we will allow you to buy coins by making direct donations to the page as well as collecting the cash at the show.
The link for the Atlas foundation can be found here: https://www.atlasforautism.org/donate/
My brother does their Overnight Walk fundraiser every year That is him on the poster on the right), and we have decided to coordinate the donations through his fundraiser page.
The advantage of coordinating this way is that not only will attendees be able to use credit cards to buy their voting coins at the show, but people will also be able to pre-order voting coins. To use these features, you will need to include your real name with the donation you make and include the phrase “For the Baron!”Make sure that when you donate you don’t opt to block the visibility of your donation.
The donation page will list all donations and you will have proof of the number of voting coins you purchased. As usually you will get one coin per dollar donated and every dollar we raise will go straight to the charity.
See you guys on Saturday (5/14) evening and we hope you enjoy the show!
We had the honor of having an amazing photographer at Wicked Faire this year who was kind enough to immortalize our stories in her images. Here are the incredible photos taken by Cat Trzaskowski Photography.
Please feel free to check out all of Cat’s work on her facebook page.
As you may or may not know, faithful and dutiful colleagues will be doing yet another storytelling in my honor next weekend at the Final Wicked Renaissance Faire. These fine fellows will be hosting yet another Charity Celebrity Munchausen at 3:00pm on Saturday 2/20/16 at the Witherspoon Ballroom. At this show we will be raiding money for RAINN.
In addition to this main show, the members of the Munchausen Society have a few side projects going on.
Professor JP McClendon will be telling some stories of his own on Friday and Sunday.
Dr. Zack will be teaching basic contact juggling on Friday and Saturday as well (advanced jugglers are welcome come and form their own advanced circle for sharing skills).
In addition, the Overly Dramatic Readers will be busking and doing stage shows on Friday and Sunday.
First, we have Professor Adam Smasher explaining the charity for which we were raising money this year.
Baron von Zipple told an interesting tale that raised a few eyebrows…
and Dean let us know there is more to prune juice than we could have imagined, and in the process became the 2015 Steampunk World’s Fair champion!
There were plenty of other good stories, but our camera skills are still being refined, and we sadly were not able to properly record them. We hope to practice so that we can make sure to give proper credit and spotlight to all of our incredible storytellers and performers.
